John Howard Print Studios is a high quality and vibrant facility offering opportunities for new and experienced printmakers to develop their skills and expertise.

Located in an iconic eco-building on the riverside in Penryn, the studio is a centre of printmaking excellence, attracting both emerging and established creative practitioners. The studio offers something for all printmakers no matter what your previous knowledge or experience.

Facilities

The print studio offers facilities for printing including copper, zinc, steel and aluminium plate etching, linocuts, woodcuts, screen print, collagraphs, monoprints and can comfortably accommodate 12 – 15 printmakers.

The studios are equipped with 5 presses, including a Rochat Etching Press, with a bed size of 21” x 36”; Littlejohn Graphic Systems Etching Press, with a bed size of 28” x 48”; and a Rollaco Press with a bed size of 28″ x 36″.

Courses

Courses are suitable for all printmakers from complete beginners to experienced practitioners. Courses are tutored by John Howard, RE, with technician support. The Schools allow participants to explore a range of printmaking techniques or focus on developing a particular area of expertise. They run with a maximum of 10 participants allowing for plenty of one-to-one bespoke tuition and support.

Gallery

John Howard Prints Studios offers an exhibition space, showing work made in the studios as well as prints and drawings from other artists. It also houses a collection of books and journals on printmaking and a wide range of prints can be viewed and purchased from the walls or browsers. This flexible space is available to hire for exhibitions or events – contact John Howard to discuss further using our Get in Touch form.
